Our goal, defined jointly with Soproni Vízmű Zrt., was to use the data from the WaterScope IoT system to make the water network safer and to receive timely notifications of pipe breaks and unauthorized water use. Another important consideration was that the system should provide a modern, remotely accessible monitoring solution, preferably with economical installation without major disruption.
The challenge
- Detecting pressure fluctuations and pipe breaks in a timely manner was previously difficult and slow
- Unauthorized water use could only be detected through manual, time-consuming inspections
- Traditional installation methods involved high investment costs

Our solution
- Installation of WaterScope IoT pressure sensors using Hawle ZAK fittings or Hawlinger pressure taps – no dismantling required
- Data transmission from the network every 2 minutes – real-time status monitoring
- Automatic alerts in the event of pipe bursts or abnormal pressure drops
- Online platform and mobile app for displaying and analyzing measured data
- Event identification accurate to the minute, e.g. in the event of water theft or abnormal loads
- Graphical pressure analysis – events deviating from usage patterns can be identified immediately
The results
- Installation at Soproni Vízmű Zrt. was able to successfully identify one case of unauthorized water use in its network.
- In the event of pipe breaks, the system immediately reported the incident, contributing significantly to reducing water loss.
- Based on daily changes in pressure curves, the operator obtained an accurate picture of the network load.
- It became possible to analyze residential consumption patterns at the trend level
